About Us
Founded in 1987 by master craftsman Edmund Harlow in Bermondsey — London's historic leather quarter — Futura Leathers Limited began as a small workshop supplying bespoke goods to London's West End retailers. Today we operate from a purpose-built facility while retaining every principle of the original atelier.
Our team of skilled artisans, many trained through our in-house apprenticeship programme, handcraft each item using full-grain hides selected for their natural character and durability. We supply independent boutiques, luxury department stores, and discerning private clients across more than 60 countries.

Every item leaving our London workshop represents more than 30 individual hand operations. We document each stage in our proprietary craft log, allowing clients to trace the complete provenance of their piece.
Our master graders hand-select each hide at source, examining grain, thickness, and natural markings to ensure only premium material enters production.
Hides are tanned using traditional oak-bark methods at our partner tanneries in England and Italy — a process taking up to eight weeks for the densest grades.
Every pattern is cut by hand or on our precision CNC table, then individually checked before moving to the bench. Waste is minimised; off-cuts are repurposed.
Saddle-stitch technique — two needles, one thread — produces seams stronger than the leather itself. Each artisan completes the same item start to finish.
